These Randolph Cambria-Friesland senior FFA members are applying to earn their Wisconsin State FFA Degree, which will be presented this June at the Wisconsin State Convention.
The Wisconsin State FFA Degree recognizes those individuals who have excelled in their FFA career and is the highest degree an individual state can bestow upon members. It follows the Greenhand and Chapter Degree and requires a vast amount of FFA participation including at least 360 hours of agricultural education courses, 25 hours of community service, at least 5 FFA activities above the chapter level, and a minimum of $1,500 or 100 hours be productively invested in their SAE.
Earning an FFA degree requires a great deal of dedication and commitment and since the fist WI State FFA degree was earned in 1931, the FFA State Degree has remained a true honor.
The State FFA Degree requires extreme dedication to a students SAE, and the application is extremely specific. Only certain community service events are considered acceptable to place on the application, and the expense/income statement sheet is verified by multiple qualified judges.
On average less than 4% of state FFA members will obtain the State FFA Degree.
